Aburame Clan
THE ABURAME CLAN

Clan Description:The Aburame Clan (油女一族, Aburame Ichizoku) at birth, members of this clan are offered to several special breed of insects as a nest, residing just under their host's skin. These insects will then live in symbiosis with their host from that point on. Because of this, its members are characterised by their use of insects as weapons.

The clan members may also carry additional insects in jars or gourds with them on missions. The insects can leave and enter their host's body through various pores. They feed on chakra as a food source, making them quite deadly. The relationship between the shinobi and the insects is mutually beneficial. The host grants the insects shelter and allows them to feed off their chakra, their body becoming a living hive of tens of thousands of these insects, and in return the insects do the user's bidding, allowing the shinobi to perform ninjutsu-like techniques without the use of hand seals or chakra conversion. A major defining trait of the Aburame clan is that all of its known members' eyes are obscured usually by glasses, as well as they wear clothing that usually cover up most of their body.
Clan Traits: When it comes to physicality, there are several ways to distinguish a member of the Aburame Clan from your average Shinobi. First of all, the way they dress. Any member of the Aburame will wear something that covers almost their entire body, to hide the hundreds of scars received during the insemination process. The other constant aspect is somewhat harder to distinguish and can only be seen by few people; mainly those of the Hyuuga Clan. The Aburame all have the same Chakra System, which is completely different to that of a normal Shinobi due to the colony of Kikai living within them.

Clan Personality: Though it would be unfair to say all, as each member of the clan is different in their own way; it is common for members of the Aburame Clan to be somewhat anti-social. Their Clan has kept to themselves for generations; they have been the Black-Sheep Clan of the Leaf for as long as anyone can remember. It is because of this that Clan members rarely marry outside of each other; causing the Clan to maintain such a small population.

Clan Location: Land of Grass

CLAN ABILITY | INSECT HOST

Name: Kikaichu Ishoku
Requirements: Member of the Aburame Clan
Description: This special ability is performed on all Aburame-Born in the early stages of childhood. It is performed by a team of Aburame Medical-Nin. First of all, the patient is placed unconscious at which points hundreds of small holes are made all over the body, leading directly to the chakra system; allowing the bugs to leave the body at will. Once the holes are created, an Elder of the Aburame Clan will place a singular Kikaichu bug on one of the wholes, which will burrow into the patient. Once the bug has entered the body, it will begin to burrow tunnels through the body itself, connecting them up to each hole. As it does this, the bug is constantly multiplying. This continues for several hours, even days in some cases; until finally, a colony exists within the body. At C-rank the user can further bond with their bugs and gain the ability to train Chakra Drain as a bloodline limit. Due to the bugs feeding on their chakra Aburame clan members have a 25% reduction to their total chakra pool, however to compensate this they gain 250% chakra control for any bloodline jutsu.

The Kikaichu Bug
The Kikaichu Bug is an interesting creature. It lives inside the user and feeds off of their chakra. In return, it serves their bidding via telepathy and attacks other shinobi. It does this by simply landing upon them and feeding off the opponents chakra, under the direction of the host. The bugs can also be used for tasks such as clogging an opponents windpipe etc. They can only utilize a single special property at the same time, such as chakra draining or using poison.

The Aburame clan is characterized by their use of insects as weapons. At birth an Aburame clan member is bound to a colony of their very own insects. Thousands of these insects are allowed to colonize the body of the clan member, the insects live in symbiosis within the body of the shinobi. The insects can leave and enter through various pores, apparently by eating their way through the skin. In exchange for getting to feed off of their host's chakra the insects will follow a clan member's every command. The Aburame clan use this insects as their very own medium to perform Jutsu allowing them to do so without the use of hand seals or chakra conversion.

Over time and careful breeding the Aburame Clan have developed several different types of insects they are able to host. All of these insects have a short life span and rapid breeding rates thus meaning if some of their insects possess a mutation that makes them well-suited for a particular task, the mutation can be cultivated, spreading it to the rest of the colony within a few generations. Although rare this can allow clan members to create their own focused breed of insects. Otherwise there are six different breeds of insects available to an Aburame member.
While members of the Aburame clan breed a number of different insect species, it is most common for them to only host one type of insect at a time. Those who focus or develop the skills of their clan to a high degree can increase the number of species they host inside their body. This limit is referred to as the Insect Host Limit. Default Insect Host Limit is 1.
While techniques using the insects of the Aburame clan require no hand seals or chakra cost in the standard sense, the insects themselves still consume chakra when used at an equal rate to the rank of the technique.

KIKAICHŪ SPECIES

Kikaichū are one of several species of insect used by members of the
Aburame clan. They resemble small, flight-capable beetles. They are about a 1mm in width and 2mm in length so their true capabilities are only realized in larger swarms.

Aburame can utilize Kikaichu to create structures or items allowing them a great deal of flexibility. Although these technique do not consume chakra in a tradiational sense, chakra is used to buffer the Kikaichu and allow them to maintain a solid structure or shape without disseminating.

Kikaichū can be used for sight-based tracking in which the Aburame Clan member disperses their insects over a wide area and uses them to locate a target. A female Kikaichū can also be placed on a target allowing them to be tracked by the rest of Kikaichū hive a within a 1km distance.

Utilization of a the Kikaichū is categorized by the size of the swarm. Swarm size is based on the rank of a technique and consists of a specific number of insects. Each swarm subtracts from the total hive size hosted within an Aburame clan member. A Kikaichū increases by 1,000,000 per clan aptitude tier to a maxiumum of 6,000,000. If all Kikaichū are used within a topic they can only be replenished via the Insect Cocoon technique.

The larger the swarm the more chakra they are capable of consuming. At base a Kikaichū is capable of consuming a technique only when buffed with their owner's chakra at a rate of the cost of the technique + 5 CP. A swarm cannot absorb a technique of higher rank than their equivalent swarm size, for example a small swarm cannot consume an S - Rank technique. Kikaichū cannot feed on elemental techniques.

E - Rank | Singular Swarm
Swarm size is too small to consume any noticeable amount of chakra.
Consumes a maxium of 100,000 Kikaichū per technique.
D - Rank | Small Swarm
Consumes Chakra from an opponent at a rate of 2 cp per technique.
Consumes a maxium of 200,000 Kikaichū per technique.
C - rank | Medium Swarm
Consumes Chakra from an opponent at a rate of 7 cp per technique.
Consumes a maxium of 400,000 Kikaichū per technique.
B - Rank | Large Swarm
Consumes Chakra from an opponent at a rate of 14 cp per technique.
Consumes a maxium of 600,000 Kikaichū per technique.
A - Rank | Giant - Swarm
Consumes Chakra from an opponent at a rate of 21 cp per technique.
Consumes a maxium of 800,000 Kikaichū per technique.
S - Rank | Massive Swarm
Consumes Chakra from an opponent at a rate of 28 cp per technique.
Consumes a maxium of 1,000,000 Kikaichū per technique.

BIKŌCHŪ SPECIES

Bikōchū are small beetle like insects bred by the Aburame clan. They resemble a Rhinoceros beetle with a long nose and blue eyes. These insects have no direct combat abilities but are instead used for their profound tracking capabilities.

Unlike the other insect species within the clan an Aburame clan member does not host a fully mature Bikōchū, but instead acts as an incubator for a maximum of five Bikōchū eggs. These eggs can be hatched for twenty chakra points.

When chakra is applied to the eggs they hatch within a maximum of three posts once the chakra is applied. When a Bikōchū hatches it bonds to the source of the first scent it experiences. Once bonded to a scent a Bikōchū will return to its host but will be able to track the bonded scent over several countries or a maximum distance of 3000 km.

If all Bikōchū are used within a topic they can only be replenished via the Insect Cocoon technique.

SHŌKAICHŪ SPECIES

Shōkaichū are a less offensive variant of insect bred by the Aburame clan. They live in small hives of twenty insects and resemble worms. After being fed the chakra from their host they are capable of tracking any foreign chakra signatures by burrowing under the ground and following a target. An Aburame can then focus their chakra to lock on to the Shōkaichū and read its 'input'. As long as a Shōkaichū worm is within 2km of their target an Aburame can tap into the worm by means of a charka connection to locate the target or even determine generalities about their chakra capacity.

A single Aburame can only host twenty Shōkaichū. To deploy a Shōkaichū it costs ten chakra points to establish a connection with a worm. The worm can then be used to track any singular chakra signature the Aburame has in mind. A singular worm can only track a maximum of one chakra signature.

If all Shōkaichū are used within a topic they can only be replenished via the Insect Cocoon technique.

KIDAICHŪ SPECIES

With a name that literally means Parasitic Giant Insects, the Kidaichū are a troublesome species bred by the Aburame clan. Where the Kikaichū are meant to swarm a target and feast upon their chakra, the Kidaichū works in a different fashion altogether.

Like the other insect species a singular Kidaichū is small in size, but unlike the others it is capable of growing at a rapid rate in response to the amount of chakra it is allowed to feed on. For this reason a Kidaichū host must constantly
control their chakra to prevent their insects from growing rapidly out of hand because of this an Aburame member can only host a maximum of 1 per tier investment [Max 6 w Legendary investment] With investment in the Chakra Control aptitude it is possible to gain an additional two bugs per Chakra Control tier to a total maximum of 16 Kidaichū.

Unlike the Kikaichū a Kidaichū cannot feed on chakra from anyone other than their host. When fed chakra these insects will rapidly grow or shrink in response to the amount of their food supply. A singular Kidaichū is slightly bigger than a Kikaichū at a size of about 2mm is length and the amount of chakra it is fed will allow it to grow at a growth rate of 40mm per 1cp it is fed to a maximum size of 1200mm [1.2m | ~4 ft]. The growth of a Kidaichū can be triggered remotely by an Aburame within two posts of feeding the insect a specified amount of chakra.

A Kidaichū can also be shrunk if the chakra it has been fed is returned to the user. At a 65% diminished rate (rounded down) this means a full size Kidaichū can refund a maximum of 19 chakra.

If all Kidaichū are used within a topic they can only be replenished via the Insect Cocoon technique.

RINKAICHŪ SPECIES

The Rinkaichū are a breed of carnivorous nano-sized insects. Where the Kidachū consume chakra as a food source the Rinkaichū are more sinister. Rather than consume just the chakra of their host, the Rinkaichū also feed on flesh either from their host or from an opponent. Unlike other insects types they cannot leave their host's body of their own volition or be sent from the body by means of a clan technique. The only way an Aburame Clan member can transmit the Rinkaichū to their target is through direct skin to skin contact.

Rinkaichū are contained within a host as they cannot survive on any external surface besides skin without the application of chakra. This means that in order to transmit Rinkaichū to an opponent both the area of transmission from the user and the area of infection of the target must be bare skin.

When transmitted to another target Rinkaichū will rapidly begin to consume the flesh they are transmitted to, but without their hosts chakra to feed on they fall victim to their short life span.

Rinkaichū can only be transmitted through taijutsu attacks. A single attack in a five post duration transmits one small swarm. Prolonged skin to skin contact or grapples will transmit at a rate equivalent of two small swarms per two posts. Contact must be maintained or repeated to transmit a larger swarm.

When transmitted the Rinkaichū consume flesh at a rapid pace and inflict excruciating pain on the target. A swarm can only be repelled by applying chakra equal to the swarm cost +2cp to the infected area which will cause the infecting insects to consume the chakra for the duration of their infection.

Swarm effects and sizes are listed below. Any variation beyond this standard list using the Rinkaichū must be done with a technique.

A single Aburame can only hold enough Rinkaichū to equal to one massive swarm or the equivelent of ten small swarms without replenishing their insect growth. If all Rinkaichū are used within a topic they can only be replenished via the Insect Cocoon technique.

Small Swarm |
A small swarm costs 5 chakra points to infect and opponent and is capable of consuming one-thirty-second the surface area of the target's skin within five posts of infection. A small swarm can only exist for a maximum of 6 posts before dying off.
Medium Swarm |
A medium swarm costs 10 chakra points to infect and opponent and is capable of consuming one-sixteenth the surface area of the target's skin within four posts of infection. A medium swarm can only exist for a maximum of 5 posts before dying out.
A medium swarm is equal to two small swarms.
Large Swarm |
A large swarm costs 20 chakra points to infect and opponent and is capable of consuming one-eighth the surface area of the target's skin within three posts of infection. A medium swarm can only exist for a maximum of four posts before dying out.
A large swarm is equal to four small swarms.
Giant Swarm |
A giant swarm costs 40 chakra points to infect and opponent and is capable of consuming one-fourth the surface area of the target's skin within two posts of infection. A giant swarm can only exist for a maximum of three posts before dying out.
A giant swarm is equal to eight small swarms.
Massive Swarm |
A massive swarm costs 50 chakra points to infect and opponent is capable of consuming one-half of the surface area of the target's skin within one posts of infection. A giant swarm can only exist for a maximum of two posts before dying out.
A massive swarm is equal to ten small swarms.

KOCHŪ SPECIES

The Kochū do not colonize as fast as other breeds and as such are very rare within the Aburame clan. They do not possess the ability to swarm like the Kikaichū or grow like the Kidaichū, but rather the Kochū are uniquely bread to handle poisons. Limited in function, a Kochū can be used in two ways, to apply a poison through a bite or to remove a poison.

After being fed any liquid or solid poison a Kochū can be used to apply a poison with a bite. The bite consumes all of the poison within the Kochū's system and applies one dose of the poison. To apply a second dose it must return to its host and be fed the poison. Kochū must be fed a poison in the same topic the bite is used as they will otherwise internalize and harmlessly digest the poison. All restrictions on poisons still apply to this ability.

Alternatively a Kochū can be applied to a target and will painfully burrow into their body to consume a poison. This allows a singular Kochū to be used to cure one dose of an applied poison from any target.

Kochū are inherently territorial. While they can live inside the same host as other insects once they leave the host they become outwardly hostile and disruptive. This means that Kochū cannot be masked inside of techniques involving other Aburame insects. This also means that a single Aburame cannot host more than 1 Kochū per clan tier investment [Max 6 w/ Legendary investment]. With the additional investment into Iryō Ninjutsu an Aburame clan member can gain an additional two bugs per Iryō Ninjutsu tier allotting for a total of 16 possible hosted Kochū.

|| ----------- || Insect Host Body || ----------- ||
Name: Insect Host Body
Type: Aburame Clan Trait
Description: From birth the Aburame are essentially pact-bound to the insects that they host within their bodies. Through years of training they are capable of utilizing these insects as a medium for a variety of techniques. As the Aburame Clan cultivate a variety of insect types with different abilities a member of the clan can understandably not possess them all. Depending on their Hiden Tier investment the Aburame can choose up to three categories of Insects as described on the clan pages. This trait serves as a simple place marker that allows an easy note of which insects are selected by a character. This trait does not have a cost nor does it apply towards any possible trait limit. This trait must be updated if a character advances in their clan tier. Once you select an insect type to utilize it cannot be change unless you purchase this technique for 85 AF. If you remove a insect type when doing so you lose the ability to utilize any clan techniques requiring aforementioned insect.
