Mode are transformations the increase a shinobi abilites and skills. There are many things in the naruto universe the may grant Modes such as Bijuu, Curse Marks, Sage Mode, Etc. Any mode canon anime, movie, and manga wise is permitted.
Custom modes, in order to create a custom mode you must have at least 10 cannon jutsu already learned. If you are customizng a cannon mode then you must have least learn 5 cannon jutsu. Modes are catgorized by type such as ninjutsu, genjutsu,taijutus, etc.
Sceinitfic Modes have no learned jutsu requirments.
